Some of the best ideas we have ever seen came from people who could not afford to build them. A nurse who knew exactly what a clinic scheduling tool should do. A shop owner who understood a niche market better than any investor ever would. A student with a product idea and a spreadsheet full of demand but not a cent for development.
The usual advice to these founders is brutal: go raise money, or go learn to code, or give up. We think that is a waste. So we built a different path. We call it the Idea Partnership, and this article explains exactly how it works, who it is for, and what makes an application strong. No hype, just the mechanics.
What the Idea Partnership actually is
The idea is simple. You bring the idea and the domain knowledge. We bring everything it takes to turn that idea into a live product that makes money. Design, engineering, the funding to pay for it all, hosting, and the marketing to get it in front of customers. You risk no money up front. When the product earns, we share the profit.
That is the whole deal in one paragraph. It is not a loan, and it is not us doing you a favor. It is a genuine partnership. We are betting our time and our money on your idea, right alongside you. That only works if the idea is real, so we are selective, and we are honest about it.
Who it is for
This is not for everyone, and pretending otherwise would waste your time and ours. The Idea Partnership fits you if:
- You have a specific idea, not just a wish to "start something." "An app like Uber but for X" is a wish. "A booking tool for independent physiotherapists that handles insurance codes" is an idea.
- You understand your market. The strongest applicants know something the rest of us do not, because they live in the problem. That knowledge is worth as much as capital.
- You have little or no budget to build. If you can comfortably fund the build yourself, you probably want a normal project engagement where you own everything outright. The partnership exists for people who cannot pay up front but have something worth backing.
- You are ready to stay involved. You are not handing us an idea and walking away. You are the domain expert, the sounding board, and often the first voice in sales and marketing. We build the product, but it is still your venture.
If that sounds like you, keep reading. If you have the budget and just want us to build to spec, that is a different and equally welcome conversation.
What Digzy brings to the table
We are not a faceless incubator. We are a small, senior team that has shipped more than 70 websites, over 20 management systems, and mobile apps for clients in more than 10 countries since 2020. When we take on an Idea Partnership, you get the same team, working on your product as if it were our own, because in a real sense it is.
Here is what we put in.
Design and product thinking
We start by turning your idea into a shape. What is the smallest version that proves people want this? We wireframe it, design it, and pressure test the assumptions before writing code, so we do not spend the budget building the wrong thing. This is the same discipline we bring to paid work, applied to your venture.
Engineering and the build
We build the product properly. Whether that is an ecommerce store, a web or mobile app, or a custom management system, it is built to be fast, secure and ready to grow. No throwaway prototype that has to be rebuilt the moment it gets traction.
Funding
This is the part that makes the partnership real. We cover the cost of building it. Design, development, and the hosting and infrastructure to run it. You do not write a check for the build. That is our stake in the bet.
Marketing and launch
A great product nobody sees earns nothing. We help take it to market: launch, SEO, and the early growth work that turns a live site into actual customers. We have spent years learning what makes a store or an app convert, and that knowledge goes into your launch, not just the build.
How the profit share works
Let us be direct about the money, because vague answers here help no one.
We share the profit the product generates. The exact terms are agreed case by case, in writing, before any work begins. There is no single fixed number, because no two ideas carry the same risk, the same effort, or the same runway to profit. A near ready concept in a proven market is a different bet from a brand new product in an untested one, and the agreement reflects that reality.
What we promise is this: the terms are written down and fair on both sides before we start. You will know exactly what you are agreeing to, in plain language, with nothing hidden. We are building a partnership we both want to last for years. A one sided deal serves neither of us, and we have no interest in one.
What makes a strong application
We read every application properly, and a handful of things consistently separate the ones we take on from the ones we pass on.
- A sharp, specific problem. Tell us the exact problem and exactly who has it. Specific beats broad every time.
- Evidence of demand. Even small proof helps. A waitlist, conversations with real potential customers, a competitor charging money, your own painful experience of the problem. Show us it is wanted.
- Your unfair advantage. Why you? Deep knowledge of the industry, an existing audience, access to the first customers, a relationship nobody else has. This is often the deciding factor.
- A clear first version. Not the ten year vision, the first useful thing we can ship and test. Founders who can name the smallest valuable version are a joy to work with and far more likely to succeed.
- Commitment. This is a partnership, and partnerships need both sides showing up. We back people who will stay in the fight through the messy early months.
You do not need a polished pitch deck or startup jargon. A clear, honest description of the idea, the market, and why you are the right person to build it will always beat buzzwords.
What happens after you apply
The process is straightforward and we move quickly.
- You apply through the Idea Partnership page with your idea and a little about you.
- We review it against the things above, and we reply either way. If it is not a fit, we will tell you honestly, and often suggest another route.
- We talk. If there is a spark, we get on a call to dig into the idea, the market and the plan together.
- We agree terms in writing. Scope, roles, and the profit share, all clear and fair, before any building starts.
- We build, fund, launch and grow it, with you as our partner the whole way.
An honest word of caution
We are not a magic wand, and we will not pretend to be. We cannot take on every idea, and we turn down more than we accept, not because they are bad, but because we can only give real attention to a few at a time. Betting our own time and money means we have to be selective. If we pass on your idea, it is not a verdict on you or the idea. It often just means the timing, the market fit or our current capacity is not right.
And if you do have a budget, remember there is a simpler path where you pay for the build and own 100 percent of the result. The partnership is specifically for people with a strong idea and no way to fund it. For them, it can be the difference between an idea that stays in a notebook and a business that exists.
Ready to pitch?
If you have been sitting on an idea because you could not afford to build it, this is the door. Bring us the problem, the market, and the reason you are the person to solve it. We will bring the design, the engineering, the funding and the marketing, and we will build it with you.
Apply through the Idea Partnership page, or if you would rather talk it through first, get in touch. The worst case is an honest conversation and some genuine advice. The best case is that the thing you have been imagining finally gets built.
